New employees need to set up their Monroe Community College (MCC) account, including password creation and Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), in order to access systems such as the myMCC portal.
Environment
- Users: New Employees (Faculty/Staff)
- Systems: myAccount Portal, myMCC Portal
- URLs:

- Devices: Any device with web browser access (desktop, laptop, or mobile)

- Navigate to: https://myaccount.monroecc.edu/
- Click Set Up Account

Log in using your newly created password.
Step 3: Complete Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) Setup

- Enter the code and confirm
Step 4: Final Login Prompt

Step 5 (Recommended): Add Authenticator App
- Install the Microsoft Authenticator app
- Configure push notifications
- Set this as your default MFA method for improved security and convenience
Step 6 (Recommended): Set Up and Sign in to Zoom (SSO)
- Open Zoom and click Sign In
- Select SSO (key icon), enter monroecommunity as the company domain, then click Continue
- Log in using your full network email (@monroecc.edu) and password, and complete any authentication prompts
Expected Result
The employee successfully sets up their MCC account, logs into the myMCC portal, and completes MFA registration, gaining full access to MCC systems.
Cause
New accounts must be manually activated by the user to establish a secure password and configure MFA. This ensures account security and verifies the user’s identity based on contact information provided during hiring.
Additional Information
- The email or phone used must match what was provided to Human Resources
- Verification details are also sent to the employee via personal email and mailed letter
- The Authenticator app is the preferred MFA method for reliability and security
